Sqirlz Water Reflections xiberpix.com is a free program (donations accepted) that allows you to add water-related special effects to your images, even if no water exists in the image.

You can add ripples (waves), ringlets (rain drops), falling rain, snow, or a combination of effects. The resulting animation can be saved as a Flash SWF file, an AVI movie clip, or animated GIF. You can also save the animation as individual frames. Beginning with version 2.5, he program now supports alpha channel transparency in PNG, BMP, and JPEG-2000 image files.

The program is very easy to use and features built-in tutorials in the form of examples which show you how to create an effect in just 3 to 5 steps. The effect tools provide many options to control the effect’s appearance. A nice feature is that you can run the effect from the tool to see how it looks and make adjustments until it looks right.

The examples shown here were saved as Flash SWF files and can be incorporated into a SiteSpinner project using the Embed File/Media tool and selecting the Flash format. You should also select the Auto-Start and Continuous Play options.
